Hi Chatlist,
What are you doing to be active this year? Active Chatham, Chatham County Parks and Recreation, and Council on Aging are teaming up to provide a comprehensive list of walking and running groups in the county.
We would like to know if you already have a group that you walk or run with, where and when the group meets, contact information on how to reach someone in the group, and if the group is open to additional
participants. Please send the information to Rocco Richard or Megan Bolejack by February 1 to be included on the list. The list of walking/running groups will be promoted on county websites, flyers,
and at community events.

Subject: Trip to the Dinner Barn Theatre
Join the Council on Aging as we go to the Dinner Barn Theatre in Greensboro to see the Church Basement Ladies on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.

We see them handle a Lutefisk Dinner, a funeral, an Easter Fund Raiser, and, of course, a wedding. They stave off potential disasters, have fun, share and debate recipes, instruct the young, and keep the pastor on due course.

Falls are the leading cause of injuries among seniors in the US. Falls are also the leading cause of death from injury among people 65 and over. The incidence of fall related hospitalizations is three times greater than any other cause. So what can we do to prevent falls? Here is the good news! The Council on Aging is looking for people who are interested in a new Balance Program being offered by the Council on Aging and Mobile Rehab Physical Therapy.
