Subject: Food Lion update—-FINALLY!
We try to spend the bulk of our grocery budget at the Chatham Marketplace Coop, but still find ourselves at Food Lion to finish out the grocery list. I for one am SO pleased that Food Lion finally updated the store……. more quality foods and healthy choices.
I have no problem waiting a few more minutes in line if it means not having to drive to Chapel Hill to shop. Someone complained last week on the chatlist about the FoodLion update—just wanted to put my two cent’s worth in to the contrary.

Subject: Tour of the Chatham Marketplace Pollinator Garden Tuesday Nov. 1
Tuesday November 1 at 5:30 pm I will be giving a tour of Chatham County Cooperative Extension’s Pollinator Paradise Demonstration Garden at Chatham Marketplace in Pittsboro. This is the final tour of the year. The garden was designed to provide forage habitat for pollinators such as honey bees, native bees, butterflies, flower flies, hummingbirds, beetles, and other beneficial insects.
No registration is required…just meet on the sidewalk in front of Chatham Marketplace at 5:30 pm! The garden is looking great and has over 50 different plants in bloom this week.

To Laura: and others.
We turn in our egg cartons at the Chatham marketplace, and they go back to the local farmers. If you haven’t visited the market yet, this is a great excuse to go..very community oriented, excellent coffee, and the kitchen has just been remodeled!
They also carry the milk (can’t remember name) that comes in glass bottles, too, so you can also turn those in and replace with fresh, reasonably priced milk!

Subject: Thank You For Your Ideas and Donations!
Thank you all for your brilliant ideas and help with obtaining reusable bags for our food pantry at the Hispanic Liaison. I have already gotten generous donations personally and Chatham Marketplace has graciously given us a deposit space there for folks to drop off bag donations. This is going to reduce our waste tremendously and will make our food pantry better. Thank you again. Please donate bags at the Chatham Marketplace. There’s a box with a hot pink sign on it that has our information on it. Thank you again to all who contacted me and donated! It’s making a huge difference in our work.
