I feel it in the best interest of the county to have CCCC acquire the General Store Cafe for two reasons:
1. As a venue for Ellen Bland, director of acting at CCCC, whom I have had the pleasure to study under, who deserves a theatre.
2. As a venue for Chef Hamm, manager of CCCC’s Natural Chef Cafe and owner of Cafe 121 in Sanford, whom I studied under, whose knowledge of running a cost-effective restaurant is beyond compare.

Chatham County Center – NC Cooperative Extension and Chatham County Division of Environment Health will be sponsoring a ServSafe Food Safety course from Wednesday, February 1st to Friday, February 3rd. Class times are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. The cost of the course is $100.00 per person. Classes will be held in the Chatham Community Library located behind Central Carolina Community College off of NC Hwy 87 N. ServSafe(r) is a 14-hour Food Safety Certification Course developed by the Education Foundation of the National Restaurant Association. This is a program for all food service managers and supervisory staff in restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, and other food service establishments. Certification will be provided by the Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association. A certificate will be awarded to all who successfully complete the course and the written examination. For any additional information, contact Chatham County Cooperative Extension, 919-542-8202.
