Subject: Northwood L V Soccer ended their season at Carrboro
Northwood ended their season tonight at Carrboro 6-0. A combination of an average performance on our part and a good Carrboro squad equaled a long night for the Chargers.
The team, coaches, managers and parents would like to wish our seniors, Anna, Annie and Sara the very best luck in their adventures after graduation. We will miss you more than you know. Thanks for four years of service and dedication to the Northwood Soccer program.

Subject: Chatham County on the side of the lawbreakers
I found a list of “sanctuary cities” in the US – those in which the chief of police or the city council forbids the police to ask about the immigration status of anyone who is detained for some other offense. The list includes Chatham County, as well as Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh and Winston-Salem.
Quite a list of jurisdictions taking the side of the lawbreakers against their law-abiding citizens. I suppose that some will say we should be proud that our county is standing up for the basic human right to immigrate to the US, legally or “undocumentedly”.

Natives, newcomers spar over county
BY BETH VELLIQUETTE : The Herald-Sun
Native vs. newcomer. Local vs. outsider.
In Chatham County, there’s a group of people who have been writing online on the Chatham Chatlist who have been going round and round for nearly a month about whether natives have a special claim to the county, if newcomers are ruining it and who has the right to call it “home.”

*Five Element Acupuncture in Pittsboro. – Sara Ruth Kane, L.Ac.*
A year and a half has passed since I opened my acupuncture practice in Pittsboro at the Chatham Wellness Center. I introduced myself through this wonderful chatlist and then was happy to see some of my patients offer their testimonials on my behalf here as well. My name is Sara Kane, and I relocated here from Miami, Florida, where I was dean of students, clinical supervisor and faculty member at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture. When my school decided to relocate to Gainesville, I decided the time had come to fulfill a long-held wish to live near my sister, who has lived in Moncure for several years now.
