Congratulations Mr. Leonard!
This county needs more people on this side of the county looking out for our interests. You will do a fine job, I'm sure. Please DO NOT let the transplants of this county rule you and or change your mind on anything that you feel will benefit the WHOLE county, not just Pittsboro and that surrounding area. I was proud to say I was from here about 20 years ago, but not anymore. I am ashamed of the politics and one-sidedness that makes up this great county now. It appalls me to know that people who are not from here are running this county into the ground. We need voices from all over the county to be heard and acknowledgement to be given.

Just stay the way you are and be the best you can be for this side of the county!
Congratulations again and Good Luck!

How dare you Alice. It's a SCHOOL. How can this be a bad idea. Do you even know how the school is actually built, to be highly "green" and that great pride and work was put into NOT being an energy waster? No, you simply judged the building and those that worked endless hours to make this school a possiblity. As those that work at and attend that school strive to build a place of education and learning you instead shine an even brighter light of ignorance on yourself.

I come to this blog from a wonderful group of people on the internet who care very much about our breed of dog. the intention was to discourage the practice of treating a dog at home, giving shots ect. I am on the end of the spectrum that believes it is not best to vet for everything a dogs needs in its lifetime.

taking your animal to the vet when you could have done it yourself opens your dog up to numerous issues. disease ...
With the influx of thousands of animals being imported by shelters and rescue groups from foreign countries into America to meet the demands of people that want small dogs, (Some shelters have waiting lists)we are seeing old diseases that were once thought to be irradicated showing their ugly heads. pathogens are sadly being imported along with the dogs rabies , different strains of parvo for which there is no test/cure.
Where does a sick dog go to? a vets office! so you take your dog to get vaccinations and could come home with something worse than you vaccinated for.
I am a firm believer in doing all you can at home. yearly visits to the et for fecals are warranted in my opinion,
If you doubt the vaccines are fresh, or not kept properly cooled, have a titers done and find out.
Know your vet, ask him if he signs up to recieve bonus's from drug companies, ask him how many proheart 6 shots his practice administered in 2004, ask him how he feels about that today.
Your vet works for you, and should not be recieving bonus's for pushing unproven drugs. We all have opinions that will differ, but i believe that we form our opinions on the great love for our dog kids. I say you can not go wrong if you follow your heart. Even if that disagree's with how others feel. Donna

Hello Lamont L.

As a resident of one of the area's "just outside" your coverage for dsl, fiber lines or even roadrunner cable broadband, yet surprisingly our close friend and neighbor on 87 north who is slightly less than 0.4 miles to our backyard has highspeed embarq DSL. I have been a telecommuter since i moved here about 6 years ago now and this is the same thing embarq and roadrunner's customer support has been saying to my immediate neighbors and I on Mitchells Chapel rd & 87 North for 6 years. I stressed this upon first moving here with embarq and I was told that if i were to write my own petition for it and get everyone in my area to sign it that it would happen. Well needless to say i needed proper broadband for telecommuting badly and sattelite internet has been grossly expensive and barely a step above a dial-up. During my residence i have signed over SIX petitions from my surrounding neighbors, some off of chicken bridge and 87 and the rest in my immediate area, but nonetheless i suppose embarq has them filed away in a wastebasket with my original petition as well. It just amazes me that you can get broadband cable or dsl further up 87 north towards silk hope where those pretty new developments are being put. Surely an area mostly comprised of medium to small family homes wouldn't need high speed internet access since your demographics probably say most of us can't afford own personal computer's. Though most of us prefer not to live in those awful pretty cookie cutter and spit developments that have just been popping up everywhere attracting big money. Needless to say i think we've been beating this dead horse with a stick long enough. Joy, Hopefully you get some decent connectivity soon. As for the rest of us, i guess we can keep filling out petitions that get ignored or just wait for the insane amount of over development in pittsboro and its immediate surrounding area's to finish building and making the broadband companies around here the money they deserve for the top notch customer service and support they have provided many of my neighbors and I with over this situation in the last HALF A DECADE. Thanks Lamont, but i can only take you about half as seriously as i have taken the other large county broadband representatives customer support teams.

Sincerest Regards, Evan Keiser
