Subject: Hygiene Kits for Disaster Assistance
In light of the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church will join churches across America to create Gift of the Heart hygiene kits.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, an emergency and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., is working with Church World Service to provide these needed essentials. Kits are kept on hand to enable quick movement of the supplies in the wake of a national or international crisis. Current supplies have been depleted. The national group creates baby, cleaning and school supplies kits as well.

What organization or government entity is coordinating this survey and what will it be used for? Despite your claims of non-partisanship, it sure sounds like you are interested in a specific outcome, which will quite undermine the validity of the survey results. Reeks of junk science and political spin.

Subject: Survey of Chatham Taxpayers
While I applaud anyone who asks for accountability in government, I have to comment on Tom Glendinning’s survey. I took the survey, and found it to be very one sided, especially the last question. An unbiased survey would have included more boxes for “need more information”.

Subject: irony
Hi Ms. Shook,
I see those dogs every day going to work. It drives me crazy to see the same dogs running loose everyday. I am not sure what is ironic about the “Volunteer Coordinator part though?” Could you elaborate? The title was given to me to help collect volunteers for the group. Do you know what the Coalition to Unchain Dogs is about? Have you gone to the website www.unchaindogs.org to check it out? Do you know we build fences for dogs? These fences are built by volunteers who take time out of thier schedules to help a dog in need. Some folk volunteer materials and other things such as dog houses, collars and toys. I understand not everyone will agree with the group and we all have our own opinions on it. But for me I would like to understand the other opinions. So please let me know.

Subject: AT&T landline billing
We’ve had AT&T /BellSouth at our home since we moved here in August. While the first 2 bills were understandably wacky because of new installation, prorated charges, etc, they have been wrong since October. I pay for unlimited long distance, yet every month, I get charged for long distance calls. So, I spend 30 minutes on the phone with them to correct the problem. They always credit the account, but have not done anything more, saying only that it’s a “known issue” and they’re working on it. It takes them 4 months to fix this??? Not to mention that it’s not like they are calling me to notify me that they’re overcharging me….
So, is anyone else having this problem with AT&T/BellSouth? Check your bills if you’re not sure.

Subject: Aria Skin & Laser Spa introduction
Aria Skin & Laser Spa is a Medical Day Spa. Many of you do not know the difference between a day spa and a medical day spa. Basically, we are more driven by results than a normal day spa would be. We are supervised by, and offer the services of, a board certified plastic surgeon. In fact Dr. Damitz is the Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery at UNC Hospital. By having a physician supervise our facility we are able to offer so many things that a day spa can’t. The products we sell are available only through physician supervised businesses and is stronger and more effective than the products sold at department stores and day spas. Our microdermabrasion machine, IPL machine and lasers are not available at a day spa.

Just wanted to put a plug in for The Door Doctor.
I’ve run DKE fraternity at UNC for the last 16 years and dealt with A LOT of repair folks. In a house that has over 50 doors and 70 guys opening and closing them constantly, I’ve had a lot of issue with doors.
Rob does great work and is reasonably priced. I like to hire Chatham for the work at DKE. Chatham Carpet does all our carpets.
