The Sprott Center has served as a safe place for children and youth to gather for fun, education, and recreation in Southeastern Chatham County.  Efforts are currently underway to renovate and reopen the Sprott Center.   You can be a part of this great work!  Just show up and eat some good food!

Subject: Northwood Varsity Baseball Team advances to the regionals!

Our Northwood Varsity team traveled to Kitty Hawk on Tuesday to take on First Flight in the 4th round of the playoffs and after a long awaited rain delay brought us home yet another win!! They now have advanced to the Eastern Regional playoffs wich will be a best of three series.

Our first game will be Thursday the 24th at Whiteville High School at 7:00pm. The address to the school is 413 North Lee Street, Whiteville NC.

I would recommend Joe Ellis, who lives in Pittsboro.  His number is 919-928-2950.

My sister-in-law had a dog who actually clawed his way through her entry door – scratched and tore a hole through it. He replaced the door with a steel entry way door that was larger; he re-framed the door way.

He has done many things for me, most recently re-roofed my house. Previously he laid hardwood flooring in my house, replaced a mold-damaged load-supporting wall,  built me a pool deck, replaced my front porch (I bought a fixer-upper bank repo) and I’ve found him to be a fairly priced trustworthy responsible workman.

ChathamArts, your county arts council, presents “IMPROV FOR ALL”  with Instructor, Anoo Brod of Transactor’s Improv Troupe!

In this class we will delve into scene work and learn how to up the ante between characters. We will also dabble in some long-form improvisation. Focus will be on side-coaching and direction so that each student gets personal feedback and guidance to ensure growth and improvement. Absolutely great for writers and storytellers too!   Learn the process of creative modular design, attachment, erection steps, and techniques for completing an outbuilding structure using reclaimed pallets. Wed afternoon from 3 – 6, and Thurs morning from 9 -12. Taught by Ed Farbach.

2) A Spiritually Centered Sustainable Lifestyle
  Learn the secrets of the sages as well as the distilled wisdom of a 20 year experiment in sustainable living. Straw bale construction, solar hot water, geodesic dome const4uction, and other techniques. Wed evening from 7 – 8:30. Taught by Trip Overholt.

Subject: Pittsboro Trash Alley

I stopped to look at the trees on main street again today in Pittsboro- There were no parking spaces, so I parked in the back, near the bakery and walked to main street. What a shock!  The little alleyway between Capitol Bank and 53 Hillsboro street is full of trash and junk. I had caught a glimpse of this the other day and thought I was mistaken – but holy trash! More has been added.  There are bags of trash, cardboard boxes that have been rained on- Many sheets of sheet-rock
that have been there so long, they have gotten wet and are crumbling apart.  The sheet-rock is so far out in the driveway, it has been run over by cars.
