Boys 1st-6th grade will be playing with the North Chatham Cardinals and the teams will be broken up accordingly -
1/2 grade
3/4 grade
5/6 grade

Boys in the 7th / 8th grade will play for the Mustangs Middle School Club Lacrosse team. More information for the Middle School team can be found at

I used Linda Petty quite some time ago and I would also recommend her.
However, if she is not available, there is a wonderful person not far from Cole Park Plaza who does great things with slipcovers.  She did some chairs for a friend and she was extremely pleased.

Award-winning singer, songwriter and activist David LaMotte will perform in concert at the new Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 14, at 7 p.m. There is no cost for the concert, but donations would be welcomed.

In his 18-year career, David LaMotte has recorded ten CDs and performed more than 2,000 concerts on four continents. Thank you for your post concerning the good and not so good.  I have to say that the other day I made my first post on the Chatham Chatlist and gave my opinion, and only an opinion, concerning the development of the Wal-Mart on 15/501.  To my amazement I read the following day the defensiveness toward the Wal-Mart.  It is better to express an opinion rather than go on the defense about a topic.  To those who are in favor of the Wal-Mart, so be it, and to those who do not wish to shop there, so be it, too.

What a very thoughtful post from Ellen Pearson, re. making Walmart more a more responsible corporate citizen! It made think of the last time I was in Costco in Durham. They actually had Cackalacky sauce (a local product, out of Chapel Hill) for sale!

So, I would definitely agree with the point “Would you like certain products to be available to compensate for the excess traffic, the loss of local businesses, the loss of property values?  Tell Walmart what you think.”  And vote with your feet.

Subject: Boo-hoo, development ruins everyone’s life.

I hate to have to say this in a public forum, but everyone who goes to such great lengths to complain about Walmart being built really needs to grow up. Everyone today wants convenience but no one wants to trade anything for it, and you can’t have it both ways. On one extreme I hear people who are so progress-fearing that they probably should be in a field with no electricity or telephone or Internet, and on the other…well, I don’t see many people who advocate for a concrete jungle, honestly.  Then we have the fools who try to play a moral supremacy card and talk about how everything we buy should be heavily researched so we don’t fund sweatshops and “unfairly traded” goods.
