Harper’s Crossroads in Bear Creek (parking lot of closed down seafood restaurant) Wednesdays from 9am-noon. 
Walk ins are welcome.

Thursdays from 9am-noon
Walk-in’s welcome.

Our Mobile Unit offers general veterinary services including vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing, wellness exams, etc.

Hi, all, I’m a grandparent in Chatham, not a parent, but I have worked as a poet-in-residence at Moncure (6-7-8th grades), in Silk Hope (7th), in Virginia Cross (3rd).  I care about all these children, and I’m very impressed with the educational experiences I’ve witnessed, especially in Moncure’s middle-schoolers, where they paid me very complete attention, and wrote thoughtful, imaginative poetry.  Judy Hogan, Moncure

Subject: Mr. Logan’s Two Budget Reduction Scenarios

 Thank you Mia and others  for posting the Two Budget Reduction Scenarios.  In case you didn’t know these two scenarios were posted on the Chatham County Schools Webpage on Friday morning for about 15 minutes.  And then they were mysteriously removed.   Makes you wonder if they were not intended for the public’s eye and someone goofed by posting them.

Interesting facts to note:
Scenario 1: Does not change (reconfigure) our K-8 schools. 
19 Teachers and 21.5 Teacher Assistants will be cut

On the weekend of February 19 and February 20th, the Chatham Coalition to Unchain Dogs will be building 2 fences and we would love for you to join us. It only takes a few hours of your time and you get to hang out with some wonderful people. We are all volunteers, building fences and freeing dogs that have been chained 24 hours of every day.

Subject: Concerned Parents on the move !

There is a growing number of parents who are asking some really well thought out questions with one being ( Why are we even considering redistricting in the first place ? ) I’m not sure after a weeks worth of research I can answer that with a logical answer as its not by any stretch of the imagination a logical move at this time or possibly ever in this county . I have been in contact with many very unhappy parents and teachers over the last week .

The Feb 14 board meeting will be at Horton multipurpose room instead of the Central Office (still 6pm).

Deb McManus posted the following info on the Facebook group Chatham County Schools – Redistricting Plan:

Budget deficits mean that there will be some drastic changes in our school system for the next few years. We have to decide which options are the most tolerable and will have the least negative impact on academic achievement. If you want to know more, come to our meetings. Our next meeting will be at Horton Middle School in Pittsboro on February 14th at 6 p.m.

This is a public meeting – so if you’re interested, attend and hear what is said.

1: Music in the Park: September 18th, 2010 from 3:00-8:00 at SW Park in Bear Creek. Music, food, games, bounce house and more……

2: We are pleased to announce the grand opening of NW Park in Silk Hope. Come out on September 24th, 2010 from 4-8 and help us celebrate. There will be food, games, paddle boats, fishing, various inflatable’s and an outdoor moving starting between 8-8:30 depending on sunset. The movie will be “Where the Wild things Are”. Free hotdogs from 5:30-6:30.

I have had a wonderful relationship with A-1 Heating and Cooling.
Their prices are competitive, and I purchased the maintenance contract.
They have been completely prompt and attentive, and the people that come out have  always been extremely nice.

The company is located in the Chatham Central area.  I don’t remember if it’s Bear Creek, Bonlee, or Goldston.
