Dear Residents of Chatham & Local Communities,

I am writing this to make sure that I relay how much appreciation and fun I and my partners have had serving this community over the past year.  We knew that it would be difficult to rebuild the patronage back to the bowling alleys after the previous owner, but were hopeful, not to mention the current economic conditions.  When we started the alleys we planned on using our extra capital to start a resturant in Sportsmans Lanes, however we found out once we restored power here that absolutely none of the lanes
equipment nor scoring systems work.

Subject: My favorite posting on 2 “big” issues

After so many comments on two recent issues, they being this dogs-in-the-stores thing and dogs hunting deer thing, I was entertained be the melding of the two by Steve’s comment. I get that people are all entitled to their own opinions of course but seems to me these 2 issues have been covered. Anyway I do like Steve’s post:

Does Chatham County have enough open space to hunt deer with dogs?

September 16th, 2011 · No Comments

From: Phyllis Thomas
Subject: Hunting deer with dogs

Hello:

Let me begin by saying that Lord knows we have way too many deer in Chatham County.  However, I don’t think there is enough open space left in the county, especially in the northern and northwestern part of the county, to provide good dog-based deer hunting.

Twenty years ago this might have been a viable option, but with the influx of many more people into Chatham, this doesn’t seem to be a good plan.

Thanks to supporters of the Pittsboro Skate Park efforts

From: Julie Cummins
Subject: Thanks to supporters of the Pittsboro Skate Park Efforts

We just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the public support of the Pittsboro Skate park this past weekend at First Sunday in downtown Pittsboro.

Families came out from all over Chatham: Siler City, Bear Creek, Moncure, and Pittsboro.

A BIG THANKS to Crusiers new Subway restaurant- they  came out to supply fresh baked cookies and sub vouchers for the kids as they worked up a hearty appetite. Thanks to Mayor Voller and the Town council  who allow  us to be a part of first Sunday, to the volunteers, and to all the kids who came to skate, rip stick, and rollerblade.
