More products than “YOU” want or need?  -  Sounds self-centered.

Wine aisle compared to night club?  -  Don’t drink? Skip that aisle then.

Makes the check-out clerks work harder?  How is that when they have nothing people want or need?   Might as well take the wine aisle out since no one in Pittsboro/surrounding areas drink it.

Prime time at 10:30?  Compared to 4-6PM?

Respect your shopping needs??   A one person grocery store!!  Let me know how well that works for you.

Subject: Road Signs

Maybe it’s not so much that people don’t agree with your point of view, but more an issue that road side signs are an eyesore.

Travelling down 15/501 from North Chatham to Pittsboro, we are assailed with signs for karate shops, pro and con political messages, houses for sale, Legend Oaks, Briar Chapel, those running for political offices and on and on.  Then when the mowers come through, the signs are swept into the blades and shredded, thus adding more garbage to the already littered highways.

If only the old hyway could talk! What stories it could tell-   Well, I do have a few of my own- The old hyway has magical powers and spirits that linger to this day- or at least in my neck of the woods. Stay tuned- stay confused- I am.

Subject: Shame on Foodlion Pittsboro

They put us through torture and tears with their new “make-over”-  The result is far more products than we want or need. Selections only a gourmet kodonchee could love- The wine isle is like a nightclub- The meat display is like an art-deco morgue. Bigger is better? The new set-up makes the check-out clerks work harder. The bagging and handling of foods is more complicated. Now, even female clerks have to go outside and bring in the shopping cartsl.

Subject: Thanks Lee Pollard!

What a wonderful community we have! Lee donated a Dell laptop to our volunteer coordinator and admin assist person (she wears many hats) and her 16 y/o daughter who is home schooled. They lost everything in a house fire Sunday morning. I was so honored to hand her a working laptop on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. How awesome is that?

I don’t want to sound cranky,  BUT: some people who post suggestions and recommendations for interesting Chatham businesses do not give the rest of us any information to help us locate their finds. Many times we need more information than “Pittsboro”, “Chatham County” or “Siler City”.

I am sure the business owners would be grateful for your information, as would we.

Subject: My Laser Level FOUND. Thank you Harrold Brown

After losing my laser level and posting a notice here last week, I put up a sign on Sugar Lake Road. Harold Brown had found the laser on the road, where it had fallen out of a faulty latched tool box on my dump truck. He didn’t know to whom it belonged, though he did know what and how costly it was. He called me after seeing the sign, and I now have the laser back, apparently no worse for the fall.

I also use Frontline on my pets, but I refuse to spray myself, the yard, or the house with chemical agents. It’s a pretty good bet that I’ll be the one to get sick, while the bugs will just get resistant and thrive. I’ve tried every “natural, herbal” product. Nothing works against those hardy little pests.
