Subject: Northwood Bets on Guys & Dolls for Spring Musical
Will Nathan Detroit find a place for “The Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York” before Big Jule arrives? Will Miss Adelaide finally get Nathan to the alter after 14 years? Will Sky get that Mission Doll Sgt. Sarah Brown to fly to Havana for DINNER? And most importantly, which is more popular—Mindy’s Cheesecake or Mindy’s Strudel?
The answers to these and other completely inconsequential questions will all be revealed when the Northwood Arts Education Department presents the 1950 Broadway classic, Guys & Dolls, March 25-27 at 7pm in Northwood’s Benjamin J. Lee Auditorium.

We would like to thank everyone for their support with the SSM-JAM (Sharpe Store Music – Junior Appalachian Education Program), we have many excited kids and teachers. We do have a need for some instruments for loaners for some of our students. If you have a guitar, banjo, or fiddle gathering dust, or maybe you have too many of them we would love to have you donate the instrument to the SSM-JAM it would be a tax deductible contribution. You can also donate monetary gifts – for more information you can call Denise Dunn at 919-548-3458 or 919-548-9477.

Subject: Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival to Unveil New Dance Tent
Drive out into the country, past Pittsboro on Henderson Tanyard Road, as you pass a nice horse pasture and just before you start seeing signs that say “festival” with arrows pointing down the drive, something else stands out just beyond those trees. Through the branches of the trees that line the back of the pasture, a large
white and yellow thing emerges. “It looks like a blimp hiding in the woods!” one festival volunteer decrees.

Silk Hope, NC – There is something special about that first live music experience. As a kid, seeing that music is not just something that happens, but something that takes time, dedication, and practice, and that it is something that anyone can do, is very important. The folks at Shakori Hills obviously know the importance of music and art, but they also know what it means in the lives of children. Not only is the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival very welcoming to children and families, they also know how special is it to bring the art to the children in their own world.

In case you weren’t one of the 300 high rollers in attendance at Bynum Front
Porch’s Casino Night Fundraiser last year, you missed a spectacular evening
of live entertainment, gaming and incredible raffle prizes. But don’t take
our word for it. . . . .
“We had a fantastic time last year at the Casino Night. What would be a
unique night out anywhere (except in Vegas itself), was created by the Bynum
Front Porch organization right here in Chatham County. We are looking
forward to high rolling for a good cause again this year!”
