Goldston United Methodist Church is getting ready for June and the start of Summer!  We will be having “SKY” our VBS from June 10 – 13 – the VBS Kick-off will be Sunday June 10 watch the Chatham News for the time.  Then we will be having VBS Monday through Wednesday.  We hope you will join us for our first summer event.  Chatham County JAM (sponsored by GUMC) will have Summer Camp June 18th – 22nd, this camp will feature learning musical instruments, guitar, banjo,
fiddle, mandolin, dulcimer.  Plus many hands on projects in the afternoons, hollern’, pottery, weaving, water games, songwriting and much, much more.  The camp will take place at the Silk Hope

Heartsaver CPR/AED is a video-based, instructor-led classroom course that teaches adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking.   This course teaches skills with the American Heart Association’s research-proven “practice-while-watching” technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning skills.  Space is limited.

PITTSBORO — The Chatham County Council on Aging wants residents to take time in May to show appreciation for older adults in the community as part of Older Americans Month, which has been around since 1963.

Keeping with the theme of its “Never Too Old to Play,” the Council encourages our senior citizens to stay engaged, active and involved in their own lives and in their community.  Lindsay Hickling, activities coordinator and wellness manager, invites all older adults living in Chatham to visit one of the two senior centers.

I am looking for some volunteer folks/duos/groups/etc to perform at our Community. Our Residents love visitors, especially musical ones! Church groups welcome! If you play the violin, oboe, kazoo, or any instrument really, and want to show off a little, schedule a time to come by. We can schedule times for any day, any time you’d like to sing, play, drink a glass of water while standing on your head…hey, we’re easily amused:-)

Spaces are still available for Chatham County Parks and Recreation’s Summer Day Camp at Northwest Park.  This camp will be running daily from 7:30am to 5:30 pm from June 25 through August 10, with no camp the week of July 4.  Northwest Park is located at 2413 Woody Store Road in the Silk Hope area.  The cost is $50.00 per week.

Certain diseases, including diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, may also cause tendonitis.
