Subject: 4th Annual Reindeer Run with Appearance from Shalane Flanagan
The 4th Annual Active Chatham Reindeer Run is on Saturday, December 13th. The race will start at the Central Carolina Community College campus in Pittsboro at 8:00 am.
Shalane Flanagan, 2008 Olympic Women’s 10,000 meter bronze medalist, is scheduled to meet the public and sign autographs after the race.
Race brochures with registration forms can be found at the Chatham County Public Health Department sites in Pittsboro, TeenWorks Teen Center in Siler City, Chatham County Parks and Recreation, Chatham YMCA, Ladies Fitness Center, Millennium Sports Club, Snap Fitness, and Dr. N. Rouse Wilson’s Office..

There will be a collection day for unused/unwanted pesticides held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Southern States - Siler City Service from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
This is a free service provided by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in cooperation with North Carolina Cooperative Extension. This program will allow you to properly dispose of any unwanted pesticides. Unused and unwanted pesticides can present a potential contamination problem around the home or farm. There are many such products still stored in storage buildings or garages because the people don’t know how to properly and legally dispose of them.

Subject: Pancake breakfast fundraiser on Nov. 22
The Perry Harrison 7th-graders are hosting a pancake breakfast at Andy’s restaurant in Pittsboro on Saturday, November 22, from 8:00 until 10:30. (Andy’s is located at 987 East Street.)
For $5.00, diners will receive three pancakes, two pieces of bacon, one piece of sausage, and a beverage. Tickets are on sale now from any Perry Harrison 7th-grader; walk-in diners are also welcome. Proceeds will be applied to the 2009 trip to Washington, DC.
Come out and join us for a terrific breakfast that’s for a good cause.
