Greetings everyone!

I kept being told that I should join this chatlist, so here I am. My name is Emma Cabrera, and I own the new “steampunk” art gallery, Davenport & Winkleperry, in downtown Pittsboro. I’m really excited about being in town, and I’m looking forward to being involved in the community.  Presently, I’m in the gallery all of the time, so I’m sorry that I haven’t been able to make it into all of the other businesses in downtown to say hello, so hopefully my virtual hello will be enough… Hello!

We’re gearing up for a next monthly art reception on Saturday July 3rd, so if you’re looking for something to do tomorrow from 5pm to 8pm, feel free to stop in and say hello.

Subject: Changing cell phone reception

I had a lot of people respond to me with similar problems – from different carriers. Indeed, I wonder what has happened that has changed things. Some Verizon users think it was the switch from Alltel towers to Verizon towers == perhaps Sprint had also been sharing signals with the Alltell towers — and they’ve discontinued using Alltel towers altogether? Any other thoughts? Could it just be the leaves filling in from spring to summer? But I don’t remember this problem last summer …

Still no resolution to my signal though it’s been put out as a trouble ticket.

If you are having problems, please call and report it to your carrier. The more people reporting, the more likely the change they will come out to really look into this issue.

Chatham Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament Winners

The Chatham Chamber of Commerce held its’ 22nd Annual Golf Tournament  at the Tradition Golf Club at Chapel Ridge, “A Fred Couples Golf Course” on Monday, June 21.  There were 68 golfers that came out to play in the tournament.  Prizes were awarded to the top 3 teams and to 3 contest winners.  The winners were:

1st Place Winners – Siler City Country Club Team

2nd Place Winners – Pittsboro Ford Team

Each year the Chatham Chamber of Commerce’s Golf Tournament is held at one of its members’ locations.  We were proud to expand our presence by having this year’s tournament, for the first time, at the Tradition Golf Club at Chapel Ridge.  Our Chamber serves the entire county and strives to find ways to bring Chamber members together.

Subject: house painter needed & critter remover needed

I am looking for recommendations for 2 different services. We need to have the exterior of our house repainted. Anyone have suggestions?
We also have mystery wildlife in the attic that we can’t find but hear occasionally romping around in the middle of the night. I’d like to find someone who can get these critters to leave on their own or trap them humanly for release far away. Recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Subject: Siler City Merchant Association sponsored Easter Egg Hunt

The Siler City Merchant Association is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt at Bray Park T- Ball Fields in Siler City on Saturday, April 3rd.  There will be 3 age groups:  Age 2 – 4 will start at 1:00PM, age 5 – 7 will start at 1:30 PM and age 8 – 10 will start at 2:00 PM.  In addition to the regular Easter eggs, there will be prize eggs in each group.

Walgreens will be there to take photos of the children and the Siler City Merchants Association will have a concession area for refreshments.  So bring your own basket and come out and have an afternoon of fun!
