We ate at Scratch’s Pizza in the Wal Mart shopping center in Siler City the other night. I just wanted to say that the pizza was good, the salad bar was fresh, the restaurant was clean, and the service was excellent.

Subject: Pittsboro’s City Tap Noise Not Music To All Ears.

Recently two articles have appeared in The Chatham Record newspaper regarding complaints that “music” being played at Pittsboro’s City Tap Bar/Restaurant is too loud. Local residents complained to Pittsboro city Fathers to do something about it. Well, lots of luck local residents- History of such situations has you on the loosing end. Walnut Creek Raleigh, Shakori Hills, Sports Arena- they are still going strong and still making life miserable for residents unfortunate enough to be living near by.

Hi Monnda:

Once upon a time I ran a home child day care center in Pittsboro. I loved the children, had great parents, life was good. But inspectors were the reason I closed.

The problem is too many inspectors have absolutely no common sense – and in some cases, they have absolutely no brains. But they have a inspections manual and the power to make your life Hell – and they thrive on that power. Feed on it.

Subject: Changing cell phone reception

I had a lot of people respond to me with similar problems – from different carriers. Indeed, I wonder what has happened that has changed things. Some Verizon users think it was the switch from Alltel towers to Verizon towers == perhaps Sprint had also been sharing signals with the Alltell towers — and they’ve discontinued using Alltel towers altogether? Any other thoughts? Could it just be the leaves filling in from spring to summer? But I don’t remember this problem last summer …

Chatham Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament Winners

The Chatham Chamber of Commerce held its’ 22nd Annual Golf Tournament  at the Tradition Golf Club at Chapel Ridge, “A Fred Couples Golf Course” on Monday, June 21.  There were 68 golfers that came out to play in the tournament.  Prizes were awarded to the top 3 teams and to 3 contest winners.  The winners were:
