Call Larry Beaton of Alert Protection Systems

August 22nd, 2010 · No Comments

Date: Sat, 24 Jul 2010 14:48:33 -0400
From: Tim Walker
Subject: Alarm Company

Call Larry Beaton of Alert Protectialon Systems, 919.467.help, or cell 919.427.3073. Though not in Chatham, this is a family-owned business. They charge a little more to install whatever monitoring sensors / equipment that you need ‘a la carte’, but, their monitoring fee is less than the big chains.

Larry has given great service, and has been very patient whenever we’ve had questions about our system. Chatham Sheriffs have also very quick to respond (and very gracious) when we’ve had false alarms.

Getting rid of bats in the attic

August 22nd, 2010 · No Comments

Date: Sat, 24 Jul 2010 14:38:58 -0400
From: Tim Walker
Subject: Bats in the attic

Once a small squirrel got into the attic of my house. It came in because a fascia board’s end had pulled away and opened up just enough of a hole for it to get in. Drove me crazy running around up there as I was trying to sleep. Don’t know where I got this advice, but what I did was throw a bunch of moth balls up there. The odor ran the squirrel away, then I repaired the entry hole. Eventually the moth balls just evaporate away, no need to remove them. Stands to reason that this might work for bats also.

Be aware of this alarm company

From: Scott Lehman
Subject: Be aware of this alarm company!

*Safe Home Security (Secure Force INC. or SFI)*

I had the alarm company Safe Home Security for just over three years. I called about a year ago to cancel my service due to being laid off. They informed me that I was under a three year contract and had a year left on it. They failed to mention if I wanted to cancel my contract at that point that I would need to write a letter stating such and have them receive it within three months of my contracts ending date or it would automatically renew for another three year period. So a couple weeks ago when I called to cancel the service they explained to me that I had three more years before I could cancel my service.

Follow Chatters

I know there has been a large number of postings about poor or lack of cell coverage over the past couple of month on all carriers.

To correct the problems we all need to do one thing….

Open trouble tickets with our providers!!!!!!!

I have Sprint and have experienced calls dropping where they never did before, bad coverage, no coverage, etc.

Like a boob I opened it

From: Meg Miller
Subject: You got me!

The other day I received an email entitled “comments on your post” and like a boob I opened it.  It was linked through an old post I made to the chatlist, back in 2007 and there were all sorts of strange addresses attached to it. This was a post that Gene put on the journal so it is still accessible.  i knew right then I had screwed up. There was a snippet of the post I had made so i have no doubt that whoever sent me this “gift” did it through my chatlist account.
