In an emergency, you want to be the one helping, not the one needing help! Don’t be a victim!

Hurricanes, floods, fires, earthquakes, landslides, power outages, evacuations, and hazardous material spills raged across the US in 2017. Trained community members assisted our professional first responders with first aid, shelter operations, transportation, and emergency communications.

CERT
CERT (https://www.ready.gov/community-emergency-response-team) is a national program that educates individuals on how to respond to emergencies that impact their local area, with classes in basic disaster skills: fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. CERT volunteers can assist their communities following a disaster or other emergency when professional responders are not immediately available everywhere they are needed. CERT members, even if not part of a formal team, are a vital part of sustaining our neighborhoods in a crisis.

CERT members participate in a variety of roles to the level of their physical abilities, so all are welcome!
