Subject: Dr. Alan Walker
Dr. Alan Walker of Moncure died on November 20th of pancreatic cancer.
He is survived and deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Pat Shipman, his son, Simon Walker, his son’s wife Shellene Walker, and his granddaughters, Bryn and Meghan Walker. Dr. Walker was an internationally-know scientist specializing in human evolution and was honored with numerous awards, including a MacArthur Foundation”genius” award and election to the Royal Society in England. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
