Monday, Nov. 13

Tuesday, Nov. 14

11am                            CCL Preschool Story Time- Join us for stories, songs, finger plays, and rhymes. Appropriate for children ages 3 to 5 years. Older and younger siblings welcome, of course! Story Time lasts approximately 30 minutes.

4pm                         CCL Book Club for Kids Ages 5-8.  Readers ages 5-8 years old are invited to join the book club meeting on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss selected titles. 6-7pm                         Virtual Justice Project: Educational Plans in the School System. Understanding educational plans and how they can impact student success. Encore session. This presentation will be broadcast live from North Carolina Central University as part of the Virtual Justice Project. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists in real time. Takes place in the double study room at Chatham Community Library.  No registration required, but seating is limited.  Call 919-545-8083 for more information.

Wednesday, Nov. 15
10am                     Using the Library’s Online Catalog. Are you getting the most out of the library’s online catalog?  This class will teach you how to search for materials, renew items, place holds, and more! Topics covered in this workshop include: getting to the catalog from home and in the library, using basic and advanced search strategies, understanding call numbers and item locations, accessing your patron account, renewing materials, placing a request (hold), and creating a saved list.  Prerequisites:  Participants must be comfortable operating a computer, using a keyboard and mouse, and navigating the Internet. This workshop is FREE and open to the public; however, class size is limited and registration is required. Call the Reference desk at 919-545-8086 to register.

6-8pm                   Virtual Justice Project: Debit Trap. A general discussion on ways to alleviate personal debt and prevent loss of personal and residential property. This presentation will be broadcast live from North Carolina Central University as part of the Virtual Justice Project. Thursday, Nov. 16
9am-12pm                 Genealogy Assistance- Volunteer genealogists are available to assist with family history research, whether your ancestors lived in Chatham County, the 50 states, or overseas.  A genealogist is on site in the library most Thursdays from 9:00 am to noon, and other days and times by appointment. Call 919-545-8086 to make an appointment. Sessions take place in the Local History & Genealogy area of Chatham Community Library.  Please bring as much written documentation as you have about the topic you are researching, as well as a flash drive for saving documents and/or money for printing.

Friday, Nov. 17
10am-Noon               Common Thread Needle Craft Group for adults. Bring your favorite needlework project and enjoy the conversation and camaraderie.. Newcomers are always welcome and registration is not required. For more information, call the library at (919) 545-8084.

6pm                       Teen Game Night. Glory! Honor! Revenge! Pizza!  No matter what guides your quest, you are sure to be successful at the Chatham Community Library Teen Game Night.  Multiple tables of Dungeons and Dragons are always looking for new adventurers.  Other options include a selection of board games and a Nintendo Wii.  There are also snacks and pizza.  Teen Game Night is held monthly. Saturday, Nov. 18
2pm                              CCL Fall Family Craft.  Families with children of all ages are invited to make a Thanksgiving related fall craft. No registration is necessary! Our craft event will take place in the Holmes Meeting Room. For more information, contact Katy Henderson at (919) 545-8085
3:30pm                          Spanish Book Club- This club meets twice a month in the double study room and is conducted entirely in Spanish. All the book club members are bilingual, the majority of our club members are native English speakers, with a small portion whose native language are different from English.
