Subject: Invitation to Woods Charter School’s FREE Speaker Series Next Presentation–“Executive Functioning for the Family: Building a Bridge from School to Home”

Please join us for our next Exceptional Children’s Stakeholders meeting on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at Woods Charter School (160 Woodland Grove Lane, Chapel Hill, NC 27516), when we welcome guest speaker, Sandra Clifton.

Ms. Clifton taught HS English for a decade, and then earned a Certificate in Emotional Literacy from Yale University. She is currently in a private practice in Chapel Hill, called “Clifton Corner”. According to her website, “Clifton Corner is a safe space of learning to support overwhelmed students who struggle with issues of perfection, motivation, organization, learning differences, and self-esteem.” Ms. Clifton will address concerns related to helping students with executive functioning deficits learn how to continue implementing successful strategies at home. She will present tips to help parents and students, as well as answer specific questions from the audience.

This fascinating and informative presentation is open to all parents and high school students, regardless of whether they are Woods Charter School families. If you have any questions, please call EC Director Kathleen St. Lawrence at (919-960-8353 x 450)
