Subject: Chatham Reads book drive at The Mod now through May 2.
Chatham Reads, in partnership with the Chatham Education Foundation, is conducting a book drive at The Modern Life Deli and Drinks (The Mod) now through May 2. The Mod is located at 46 Sanford Road in Pittsboro. We seek donations of new and gently used children’s books.
Did you know that 61% of low-income families have no books at all in the home for children?
Did you know that 54% of students in Chatham County Schools qualify for free or reduced lunch?
Donated books will be distributed to Chatham County Schools students in need during the summer months. If you do not have children’s books to donate but would like to help, you can make a cash donation to the Chatham Education Foundation. CEF will make book purchases with the money. Please mail check to: Chatham Education Foundation, PO Box 1518, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
Chatham Reads is a partnership led by Chatham County Schools and the Chatham Education Foundation partnering with other local community organizations to bring awareness of literacy to the community.
