I can’t speak to the lack of bumblebees/carpenter bees, but if you are noticing fewer or no honey bees, it may be because someone near you used to keep bees but does not anymore. Honey bees only forage up to 3 miles from their hives less, if good food sources are located closer to them and there are very few feral colonies left out there.
