Northwood’s Carson Shaner hit a game-winning home run in the 11th inning giving the Lady Chargers a 4-3 victory over rival J.F. Webb Saturday afternoon in the second round of the NCHSAA 3A State Tournament.

Shaner’s high fly over the left field fence was the clincher, but the one which really saved Northwood’s season for at least one more game came five innings earlier. McKenzie Allgood hit a three run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game up at 3-3.
