Have you been looking for a book club? The Chatham Community Library Book Club meets every month, at the library on the campus of Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro.

We share our thoughts on the same book on the First Tuesday evening of the month at 6:45-7:45 pm, and again on the First Thursday afternoon from 1:00-2:00 pm.

We’ve just voted for the titles to read through December, alternating fiction and nonfiction. You are welcome to come by for just one, or join us every month!

JUNE: Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande
JULY: The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
AUGUST: The Quartet: Orchestrating the Second American Revolution by Joseph J. Ellis
SEPTEMBER: The Storied Life of AJ Fickry by Gabrielle Zevin
OCTOBER: Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson
NOVEMBER: The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende
DECEMBER: Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond

Some members meet for lunch before the afternoon club meeting, usually at the Natural Chef Café on the college campus.

And yes, there are some men who attend regularly!
