Subject: RE: Mike Cross and Brian Bock

I have followed the discussion on this Chatlist this past week and I noticed something very interesting.

Some of the same folks who are bent out of shape about GOP Chairman Brian Bock’s endorsement of Mike Cross were not nearly as upset when the preferred Pittsboro Matters candidate for Town Board, Bill Terry, was shown to have given a large campaign contribution to re-elect Mr. Bock in 2014.

Now to be fair, Mr. Terry is an independent and he has given to Republicans and Democrats; however, as the sitting mayor in 2014 he chose to give a substantial contribution to the Republican running for County Commissioner, and eschewed contributing to any of the Democrats.

I believe that a campaign contribution represents a clear endorsement so I find it humorous that the Pittsboro Matters crowd is attempting to taint Commissioner Cross with an association with former GOP Chairman Bock, while less than two years ago one of their own preferred darlings endorsed and supported Mr. Bock for reelection.

Consistency is not Pittsboro Matter’s strong suit.
