So much speculation circulating about this proposed purchase option. (The “thousands of jobs” part makes me wonder if we really have the skilled workforce to run a 21st century robotics based manufacturing plant here. Automakers are going to be extremely careful to avoid making past mistakes about workforce before they choose a site.)
So: Which other mega sites were used as comparables (“comps”) in order to arrive at the appraised value per acre? Is this appraisal available to the public, and if so, where? On behalf of all county taxpayers who are making this purchase possible, we’d like to know if what we’re buying has been fairly appraised.
