Subject: Do you want fresh, local fruits and vegetables at a low price?
Open to families in or very nearby Chatham County.
A UNC research program is offering weekly boxes of fresh, local fruits and vegetables from Chatham County farmers at a low price.
Along with the boxes, you get free healthy eating classes (along with free cooking equipment) to learn how to eat healthy and prepare the fruits and vegetables you get in the box!
You also have the chance to earn $615 (over 3 years) if you participate in a research project that involves answering questions about what you eat, how your family spends your food dollars, and what you think about the program.
You can get these low priced fruit and vegetable boxes if you are:
A parent of children between the ages of 2 -12 years who live in a household where someone receives:
o SNAP (Food Stamps) or WIC benefits
o Have a child enrolled in Head Start
o Or meet similar income guidelines
