10am Preschool Story Time

Wednesday, Feb. 24
12-4pm Drop-in Employment Assistance. A member of CCCC’s Human Resources Development program will be available to assist you with employment skills and related questions. Drop in any time between noon and 4:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (through March 11th) to receive help:

* Writing a resume
* Strengthening your job interview skills
* Searching for jobs
* Applying to jobs
Participants will be required to fill out registration paperwork the first time they receive assistance. Assistance is free if you are unemployed, underemployed, working & eligible for the federal earned income tax credit, or if you have received notice of a layoff.

Thursday, Feb. 25
9-12 & 1-3pm Genealogy Assistance. Reservations requested. Contact the Reference Desk at 919-545-8086.

10am MS PowerPoint, Part 2. Topics covered in this workshop include:

* identifying key components and features of Microsoft PowerPoint 2013
* using slide designs and themes
* using basic slide layouts
* formatting text boxes
* creating bulleted and numbered lists
* inserting pictures and shapes
* managing your slides
* saving and printing presentations
Prerequisites should have taken part 1 or be familiar with PowerPoint basics. Registration is required.

Saturday, Feb. 26
1pm Getting to Know Your Bird Neighbors. New Hope Audubon Society, serving Orange, Durham, and Chatham counties, invites youth and their families/friends to get to know their bird neighbors through games, hands-on activities, and educational displays. This is not a sit-down presentation. There will be booths for you to visit where you can make bird nests, check out bird watching, etc. Youth of all ages and their families are welcome! 3-5pm Anime Club. Monthly meetings will include activities such as drawing anime characters, tasting food from Asia, playing video games, and watching anime shows and movies. A note for parents: This club is intended for ages 13 and up, but younger kids are welcome to attend. Any child under 11 years old cannot be dropped off. A parent will need to be in the building with them. Be advised that we will be showing a special PG movie this week and it may start at 2:50 in order to finish before the library closes at 5pm. 3:30pm Spanish Book Club for Adults. This club, moderated by Sandy Reul, meets twice a month in the double study room and is conducted entirely in Spanish.All the book club members are bilingual, the majority of our club members are native English speakers, with a small portion whose native language are different from English. If you are interested in participating you can contact Sandy Reul at > or you are welcome to come and sit in.
