Communities In Schools of Chatham County has a waiting list of youth looking for someone like you. Please contact Shirille Lee at or (919)663-0116 if you are interested in mentoring one of these young people.
8 year old Siler City girl is looking for a lunch buddy to check in on her a few days a week. She lost her mom and brother and could really use a friend. She could also use a sweet, gentle voice encouraging her to get her school work done!
11 year old Siler City boy needs someone that could help him with Math. An added bonus would be if the volunteer likes video games and basketball!
Hi energy, 15 year old male in the North Chatham area could really use a kind, patient friend that likes sports and video game. Someone that won’t judge his past mistake but hopefully will help guide him in the right direction through example and patience.
9 year old Siler City girl needs help building social skills. Academically gifted and loves, loves to read but struggles with boundaries and appropriate conversations. Lots of fun to be around.
There are 50 youth on a wait list for mentors, tutors and lunch buddies. Can you spare an hour a week to help one of them out? Please call Shirille for information on others or to register for Volunteer Orientation/Training set for Saturday, February 6th, 9:00am – 11:30am in Siler City or Saturday, March 12th.
