Subject: local quilters needed for community project

Calling all local (or not so local) quilters. There is a new 10-bed Hospice unit coming to Pittsboro in 2016. We would like to provide lap quilts to each person who will stay there. Would you like to help us with this community service project?

When done, I’d like to tackle newborn baby quilts for the NICU at UNC and perhaps lap quilts or pillowcases for the Children’s Hospital at UNC. (p.s. if you have a contact at UNC Children’s Hospital and UNC NICU that we can find out more information about what is best to provide…what they want/need, that would be great!)

These can be simple patterns and design and we’ll help you if you are new to quilting and nervous about joining in. All quilting levels invited! If we all work together, we can do more and lean on each other for support and skill sharing:).

We would likely meet once per week and can also work independently at home or join in and share the work on a quilt in a round robin type of block swap too. Whatever you prefer….Who’s in?
