Today was one of those days – Cold, but not quite cold enough to sting the skin. Seems half of  the leaves have fallen. But as I look up, I see there are millions more just waiting to delight andthen spin, flutter and glide their way down . . .

I let the sun get behind the trunk of a large tree and then I can look up and see the kaleidoscope of colors, even zoom in my attention to one particular leaf. Sometimes  one leaf is dangling, dancing and flaunting its ‘designer’ color. I noticed a large gold one. I chose  it because it sent me a signal- I know the signal was for me, just because I know it.

For a while, in the breeze, it twirled, twisted, swayed back and fourth-  Forty feet up. Teasing.  Seemingly not afraid to take the plunge. It would be its first and last moment of glory- The flight  down. I knew it wanted to be seen. I watched and then,   like a sunburst super star, decked out in its finest,  without the  slightest hesitation, the journey began . . Down, down, ever so gently, tumbling, sashaying, side glancing to see if I am  watching,  knowing this was its purpose . .   Landing and making a colorful tapestry carpet that, with one puff of  wind, would change and never be the same again  . . . And yet, that moment, a moment so supreme,  belonged just to  the leaf  and me . . .
