Dear Pittsboro,
I am a bit sore from working everyday during early voting, but it is gratifying to meet the voters of Pittsboro and have friends and volunteers help me everyday.
I am also very proud of the diversity of support that my campaign has received and especially pleased that the campaign received support from the past and current Democratic Party County chairs of Lee County, the current Chatham County Democratic Party chair and the past two treasurers of the State Democratic Party, Dr. David Bland and Muriel Offerman.
Finally, when the former chair of the Democratic Party in Franklin County, Armenta Eaton, sent me a contribution I nearly cried.
Armenta’s mother, Rosaneil Eaton, is one of the chief plaintiff’s for the NAACP’s lawsuit against the onerous voting rights bill that the NCGA passed and the Governor signed into law in 2013.
I respect and honor their decades of service for justice, opportunity and equality and their trust and faith in me is why I served as Executive Director of the NCDP and one of the reasons why I am now running for public office.
I will be at First Sunday this weekend.
Early voting ends today at 1 pm.
I look forward to hearing from you and discussing the important issues facing our future.
I hope to see you at the polls on Saturday or Election Day on Tuesday, November 3rd at CCCC.
