The Fall 2015 Friends of the Chatham Community Library book sale will be held on Thursday and Friday, September 17 and 18 from 9 AM to 7 PM and Saturday , September 19 from 9 AM to 2 PM. Once again the sale will be at the Chatham Community Library on the campus of Central Carolina Community College, 197 NC Highway 87 North, in Pittsboro.

In addition to our routinely outstanding selection in more than 25 categories, donations thus far for this sale have yielded especially good selections on several topics, including birds, doll making, art, baseball, ghosts, cars and airplanes, military history (lots of Civil War and WWII), dance, plays and poetry, writing, and cats. We also have received large donations of Heritage Press books and sheet music, and we think our offerings in history, cookbooks and mystery are above average in quantity and quality. Almost all the books are from donations by residents of Chatham County.

A listing of special and unusual books available at the sale can be found on-line at the Friends website: www.friendsccl.org/booksale.htm These items will be available in “Claudia’s Corner.”

The books in Claudia’s Corner are not necessarily rare or expensive. The books there are selected if they deserve more attention than they might receive it they were blended in with the thousands of other books on the main sales floor. Check them out.

In addition to the usually attractive pricing, on Thursday purchases over $200 will receive a 20% discount. On Friday all prices are 50% off. On Saturday you can fill a large paper grocery bag with books for $5. (Grocery bags donated by Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter will be available at the sale on Saturday.)

All the funds raised by these books sales go to enhance the resources and services provided by our library. The sale is a true community event — come be part of it! Bring your family and friends.

Remember, books also make great gifts.
