Ride through the woodsy vistas and scenic beauty of Northeastern Chatham County and discover one of its richest resources – the artists! With six galleries to visit in close vicinity, there is time to peruse art pieces on display, get inspired, and meet each artist.

ArtBrake! artists are a fascinating group of people. Many found professions in other disciplines, bu thave always worked in art. Their interest in the landscape and natural materials is inspired by the rural setting of the Frosty community in North Chatham County. These eleven artists at six studio gallery locations participate in an annual progressive tour one week-end each spring. Inspiration from nature is their common thread.

Artists: Linda Anderson, awe-inspiring oil paintings from subtle introspection to vibrant celebration; Christie Minchew, imaginative, colorful, decadent fiber art; Chuck Minchew, beautiful, functional items in richly contrasting wood; Carol Kroll, sculpted, carved, and painted gourd environments that take your breath away; Dick Seed, contemporary art, found objects of delight and preponderance, and his own “Trianglism†; Kim Hawks, captured expressions of nature’s beauty and power through photography; Jim Bridgman, invoking nature’s art; tables, walking sticks, jewelry of feathers, arrowheads and more; Fiddlin’ Al McCanless, unbelievably unique handmade banjos, and stunning crystalline glazed pottery; Louise Hobbs, earth materials beautifully transformed through clay sculpture, reminiscent of nature’s ancient primitive connection; Tom Boone, reflective, captivating photography from around the world, through his interpretive life lens; Regina Bridgman, brilliant, shifting colors of the rainbow and earth shine through original stained glass art.
