Subject: A Big Thank You from Cinderella’s Closet of Chatham County

The annual Cinderella’s Closet of Chatham County event is over, and we are excited to announce that we had the privilege of providing beautiful prom ensembles to 62 young women! Seeing our princesses’ eyes light up as they walked in to the beautiful Triangle Training Center filled with racks and racks of gorgeous dresses and was so rewarding, and we are thankful that everything went so smoothly. Please visit our Facebook page to see some wonderful photos of the two-day event –

Cinderella’s Closet is a year-round effort that involves the support of so many in and around our community. We continue to be impressed by the care, commitment, and generosity of our friends and neighbors, all working together to assure that we can achieve our goal of assisting these wonderful girls. This year the response from the community was overwhelming — as a result of the generosity of donors far and wide we had over 600 dresses, along with over 200 pairs of shoes, lots of lovely jewelry, beautiful formal purses, and oodles of makeup samples. We had a group of amazing volunteers (with a special shout out to the intrepid seamstresses) who made each young woman feel special and who kept all the dresses and accessories organized. A special thank you to those who kept the volunteer staff fed and hydrated!

We are so lucky that Donna and Bill DeLano have continued to provide the Triangle Training Center for our event. It is a perfect atmosphere, and the care and love that Bill and Donna have for our cause permeates the event.

We would also like to thank Bananagrams for their continuous financial support, along with Preston Development and all of our financial donors. While we have been given a discounted storage unit for our items, storage costs are by far our largest out-of-pocket expense. (If anyone has access to, or a suggestion regarding, climate-controlled storage for our gowns and accessories, please message us on our Facebook page).

And were would be without the gift of free dry cleaning for our lovely dresses? We are so grateful for the generous support of Leah Gutekunst, the owner of Clean and Press II in Cole Park, for donating their services for the third year in a row.

Finally, we are so lucky that Chatham Community Church took us under their wing as one of their missions. Stephanie Eisner and her church family have worked very hard to spread the word of Cinderella’s Closet, along with being completely hands-on with the day-to-day tasks that lead up to the event. The contributions of the members of CCC have helped shape and improve our process.

While we hope we have thanked, on our Facebook page, the many folks and businesses that have helped this year, we want to be sure all are acknowledged.. We thank Gene Galin for airing our posts throughout the year, and, as we know his chatlist is read far and wide, we would like to use this opportunity to thank our supporters:
