Dropping from the trees

Like a leafless branch

Subtly sliding through the truth

The smooth and shining snake

A whisper hissing gossip

Innuendo dripping with venom

Killing the king.

Sweet, obsequious

Moving mindfully

So graceful and correct

The camouflage melts into the egos

With the initials behind their names.

No one sees the grass move.

It seems a sweet breeze.

The red-tailed hawk shrieks

Talons wide and wild and full of blood.

The snake twists and drops

Again a branch among the trees.

The king bleeds.

They blame the raucous bird

And point their poison arrows.
