To those that defend D.O.T. and their shoddy treatment of the state owned driveway leading to my property,- That is exactly D.o.t wants. Do less work and you pay more. The morning my Chatlist complaint appeared, two mowers showed up on hyway 64, just across the way from the driveway. I thought sure someone had directed them to complete the job from the week before- but no- they mowed the right- of- way on the west bound lane, the weeds below the guard rails, down in a valley so deep the mower could not be seen from the highway. After thirty minutes, they disappeared. Ragweed still standing waist high in the state owned driveway leading to my property.

I had made a special effort to observe from my property, driving six miles to Pittsboro, and there were no standing weeds at driveways. Friday, on my visit to Siler City, I paid close attention TO ALL DRIVEWAYS- between my property and Siler City city limits. All driveways were neat and well mowed. No standing weeds. AND NO DRIVEWAYS DAMAGED BY MOWERS.

It is most peculiar, that in the rare event the dirt/gravel driveway leading to my property is mowed, it is gouged, rumbled, cut and untidy- no other driveways, including asphalt seem to suffer the same fate.

Mr. Dykers when not doctoring, can cut his own and help the D.O.T along. They need all the assistance they can get. As far as the person that complained that D.o.t. mowed down some blackberry bushes with ripe fruit? Do you know how long it must have been since the last mowing for blackberry bushes to grow up and produce fruit? That means that that area had not been mowed in months and months- in peak growing season.

But don’t get me wrong- I am the very last to complain-
