*Volunteer Opportunities with Chatham Council on Aging’s Minor Home Repair Program*

The Chatham County Council on Aging is looking for volunteers to join our Minor Home Repair Team. Volunteers complete simple household repairs for seniors who wish to remain safely in their homes, which can include:

Fixing a broken lock
Putting plastic sheeting on windows to weatherize for winter
Hanging a door
Fixing door sash
Patching Deck
Grab bar installation and other safety modifications

Fixing steps

We are looking for volunteers that are willing to serve seniors living in Chatham County. Volunteers choose where they are willing to drive, how many hours they work and what kind of projects they feel they can handle. This is a great opportunity for a volunteer who wants to put his or her skills to good use, work autonomously, and play a vital role in helping senior maintain their independence.

If you would like to volunteer, or would like more information about this and other volunteer opportunities, please contact Megan Adkins at 919-542-4512 ext. 236 or Ethan Lechner at ext. 231.
