Subject: Apology, Betty Phillips, PhD?

I should apologize frequently; maybe daily. Mostly to God for my lapses in judgement or character. Like when I get angry at some jerk who cut me off in traffic. Or when I make a snap judgement about someone based on assumptions, half truths, or misinformation. (How liberal of me.)

The term “illegal alien” is a legal term. I did not invent the term. Liberals and others want to change the language to make the phrase unacceptable as was emoted by Betty in her Chatlist response (#5049) and further yesterday (#5052). “Citizens of the world.” OMG

I am sure Betty Phillips, PhD got into psychology because she cared about people and wanted to help people. Her two most recent posts (I am sure) are intended to show she cares more about “citizens of the world” than me. I am so prejudiced [sarcasm intended].

NO, Betty. I DO NOT WANT TO BE A CITIZEN OF THE WORLD. Almost ALL humans on this planet struggle under tyrants, dictators, and governments which make their CITIZENS desperate to come to America.

Illegal aliens should apologize to the citizens of Chatham County who are out of work and desperately LOOKING for work. Recent news reported gains in NC employment have gone to immigrants NOT NC CITIZENS. There are fewer Chatham citizens employed today than in 2007 and there are MORE residents. The political and administrative leaders in DC should apologize to American citizens for refusing to enforce our laws. Chatham Democrats should apologize for dismantling our society and culture. People who want to twist the language to push a political agenda should apologize.

Betty, you are highly educated. Your profession has specific ideals and ethics about trying to lay a guilt trip on others for your own personal and monetary reasons. Pandering is NOT an effective mental health strategy. You want to convey VICTIM status to illegal aliens INSTEAD OF helping them. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE for making them illegal. Their actions are THEIR responsibility. “Let’s not call a thief a thief. It will make them feel badly. They only stole because they did not have money.”

What would you say to your clients who complain somebody else said something they interpreted as hurtful? I bet very few illegal aliens are members of this Chatlist so the only individuals who may be bothered by my post are member liberals twisting the language for a political agenda or, worse, for personal gain. Or both.
