Hi, all, and thanks to Gene for the opportunity to do an introduction.

My family moved here from Raleigh 10 years ago and we now embrace Chatham County as our home. I grew up in a small town outside Raleigh and it’s been a pleasure getting to know people in Pittsboro and the entire county.

Until this year my private practice was still Raleigh-based and I primarily served existing clients. In February I opened my doors officially in Pittsboro and am taking new psychotherapy clients for general needs as well as my specialties: PTSD, trauma, depression and other mood disorders, creative issues, and life-stage issues. I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and children.

I bring an eclectic approach to therapy, offering Jungian-based sandplay therapy (for both children and adults), some cognitive-behavioral techniques, and overall a psychodynamic approach. My practice has built over the years mostly by word of mouth: clients referring me to their friends and families. I enjoy working with people and consider it an honor to share their journeys through difficult times.

This year I’ve started two groups: Write To Heal and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. I’m looking forward to keeping these groups going with new members into the new year.

I also facilitate a free support group for adults dealing with chronic mental health issues. It meets monthly at St. Bart’s Episcopal Church and is a terrific resource that I hope will be utilized by even more people in 2015.

Writing-wise, I offer editing services and coaching for struggling writers. I am a published author and editor and enjoy doing developmental editing to assess and assist with issues including structure, characterization and arc, and voice/tone. I can also take on freelance writing/editing projects depending on my schedule. It has been on my list to offer a couple of writing groups – one for beginning writers and one for more advanced writers. I hope to get to this in the new year.

I invite you to contact me with any questions!

All the very best and happy holidays!
