The Siler City Development Organization, SCDO, is cleaning up some spots that have fallen through the ‘cracks’ Saturday morning Nov 1st. We are encouraging all citizens to make a special effort at home or business from doorstep to curb. We haven’t received a lot of press but are going ahead to get things spiffed up before the Veteran’s Parade next Saturday. This is a joint effort of the Megasite Readiness committee and the Appearance committee with the Town staff.

AND we are inviting all of you to join us. We will meet in the NCAI/Wren’s parking lot at the corner at about 9am. Please wear gloves. If you have tools, I would be most grateful if you are willing to bring them along-especially weed-whip or scythe for long grass.
a.. Ed Spence will have a group of kids from the Boys and Girls Club picking up trash in the downtown.
b.. Jack Meadows and Bryan Thompson have engaged some of Town staff to clear brush and trash from Fayetteville Ave.-they start at 8am and will move along to help others.
c.. Liz Irwin and Nicole Price are working along Birch Street and the railroad. We may all end up there-so much long grass and trash.
d.. Those with tools may also move up to clear brush from the guardrails along W Eleventh Street before the end of the morning-and maybe the long grass between Raleigh St ROW and Johnson’s parking lot

We expect to be finished by noon, but there is no stopping required if we get on a roll! Come join us.
