I agree with Dr. Dykers we do have a lot of good candidates, but we will have to agree to disagree on the the county commissioner candidates. Indeed, it is likely that we will both be voting for Walter Petty and Karen Howard, who are unopposed, but we differ on the other two slots. I grabbed the Blue Ballot and voted for the Blue Team and went with Hales and Crawford.

Diana Hales will be an upgrade from Pam Stewart. She is a tireless worker. Is committed to banning fracking in Chatham County. Has a better attendance then Stewart at Commissioner meetings over the past three and a half years and is retired, which means she can focus full time on serving the public.

Jim Crawford grew up in a large family on a farm. He understands hard work, what it’s like to grind it out on a farm, go hunting and live in a rural area.

He also worked hard summers and received his doctorate in history from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Jim is a strong supporter of the public school system and has attended Chatham County School for her entire career.

He and his wife have also started a new business in Chatham County.

Both Democrats have been endorsed by the Sierra Club, the Independent Weekly and the African-American Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party.

The incumbent Republicans have no such endorsements to place in their mailers or on TV.

Vote for Howard, Hales and Crawford!
