I have to agree that many posts here are vicious, but I want to put in my 2 cents’ worth. Ever since Bunkey Morgan’s time in office, I have felt that Chatham County was on the block for sale to the highest bidder. It seemed that no request that a developer made was too outrageous. When the Dry Creek, which runs right behind my house, ran red with mud from the Chapel Ridge development, the State Department of Environmental & Natural Resources, actually intervened. The county did nothing. Now, the state has weakened oversight, and the county has taken no active role in filling the gap . Part of the reason is that Brian Bock and Pam Stewart are aligned with the real estate and business interests, and have only given any attention to our water supply as it affected the county’s attractiveness. I think that the Jordan Lake, as well as the Haw River, come before selling the land. Millions of dollars won’t do us any good if we can’t drink the water. I’m going to vote for Diana Hales and Jim Crawford. Jack Brooks
