Subject: Boiliong down the Election in Chatham County

Folks, we can make it simple: Commissioner Bock was the former chairman of the Chatham County Republican Party and he is the quarterback for the Red Team.

Hales and Crawford are on the “Blue Ballot” and they are members of the “Blue Team”.

On a local level we can filter out the fear and simply say one side has a conservative view of governance and one side has a more progressive view.

One side supported our native son Speaker Joe Hackney when he was our representative, while the other side did not.

One side likes Congressman David Price, loved Congressman Bobby Etheridge, and supports Clay Aiken for the 2nd district, while the other side likes Congresswoman Renee Ellmers and challenger Paul Wright, who opposes affordable healthcare.

One side likes Sen. Valerie Foushee and Rep. Robert Reives, while the other side pushes for Mary Lopez-Carter and Andy Wilkie.

And finally, one side proudly has Sheriff Richard Webster on the ballot again and the other side presents the choice of Larry Meadows.

I advise all folks to do their research, get to know the issues, and vote.

I hope to see you at the polls this fall.

Democratically Yours,

Virginia Penley
