Subject: Keeping it Chathamcentric
Apparently a few folks have felt the need to post items about state and national politics to the Chatlist.
Several election cycles ago we ran into a similar situation on this Chatlist and I shut it down for a week. Well, this time we’re going with a different option.
What will happen if you choose to send in non-chathamcentric posts is this –
If it has to do with state issues it will be moved to the Chatham Online Bulletin Board and placed in the “North Carlina” section at http://chatham-county-nc.com/bulletinboard/index.php/board,10.0.html
If a post has to do with national politics it will be posted to the “This, That and Everything Else” section at http://chatham-county-nc.com/bulletinboard/index.php/board,5.0.html
Fracking issues will be forwarded to the dedicated Fracking NC Google discussion group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/fracking-in-nc
I set this dedicated Fracking Group up when some folks claimed this was the most important issue ever.
In the many years that I have administered this Chatham Chatlist, the thing that has kept it healthy and growing is the fact that it is truly unique in concentrating on Chathamcentric topics. People come here to share and learn about things going on in Chatham County.
