Just FYI for Early voting which starts this Thursday, October 23rd.

One Stop/Early Voting starts Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 4 sites in Chatham County

Board of Elections Offices – 984 Thompson Street, Pittsboro, NC

Open: Thursday, October 23, 2014- Saturday, November 1, 2014

7 AM-7 PM Weekdays

8 AM-6 PM Saturday Oct. 25

8 AM-1 PM Saturday Nov. 1

* Any registered voter in Chatham County can vote at any of the Early Voting/One Stop sites.

* In person registration is no longer permitted at One Stop/Early voting. You must have been registered by October 10, 2014. You can check your voter registration status at www.ncsbe.gov/webapps/voter_search/

* Election Day voting: All 19 polling places in Chatham County will be open from 6:30 am until 7:30 pm on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

* On Election Day, you must vote in your proper precinct. Any provisional ballot cast outside of a voter’s correct precinct will not be counted.. Any person who is not sure of their voting precinct can call the office at 919-545-8500.

* Straight Party voting is no longer used in North Carolina. Each contest selection must be marked separately.

* Voters will not be required to show a photo ID in order to vote in this year’s elections. Precinct officials will be providing information about the 2016 photo ID requirement and will be asking voters to sign a form if they do not believe they have acceptable ID. These voters will be given instructions on how they can obtain a no-fee photo ID from the North Carolina DMV.
