Regarding the County Commissioner’s race I find it curious that the current GOP incumbents are claiming that they are environmentalists and ardently against fracking.

Now they can certainly stand on firm ground on a number of issues, but it is just not credible that they were stronger on the environment than their predecessors or stronger than Hales, Crawford, Howard who oppose them in this race.

In addition, while on my travels I had the chance to witness over twenty citizens get off of the 5:30 bus at Lowes the other night in Pittsboro.

I witnessed some of them go shopping there near where they had parked for the commute before they drove on home. They were spending their money in Chatham County!

And this is where we are with potential demand before Chatham Park is developed,

With leaders who are against supporting transit, who are behind the curve and listening to the wrong advice.

If you listen to the planners for Chatham Park they will remark how important transit is today and the future as well as the leaders of the Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Triangle Area Rural Planning Organization.

Of course one would need to actually attend those meetings to glean this wisdom.

To me the choice is very clear: leaders who will support transit, oppose fracking Chatham County, and protect the water we drink or leaders who don’t or won’t.
