This isn’t new. Progressives in the county tried to stop Fearrington back in the day, now it’s a progressive stronghold. Governor’s Club, The Preserve, all polarizing developments that local progressives tried to stop at the time but provided them with political strength once they were built. Remember when Chapel Ridge was something conservatives wanted and progressives didn’t? Today it is apparently the source of most of the signatures on the petition against the nearby shooting range.

Be careful what you wish for. When you advocate for approval of large, Cary-like developments in Chatham County, don’t act surprised or disappointed when Chatham County becomes Cary West, complete with “outsiders” making the rules for everyone once they are the majority. .

  1. Mike- you are so correct. The developments you mentioned are just a drop in the bucket to Chatham Park.

Further, did you know that Chatham Park has bought almost all of the main part of Pittsboro- the block on the West side of Highway 15-501 running directly through down town is now owned by Chatham Park. TEAR DOWN AND RE-BUILD PITTSBORO-OH YEA, THAT IS THE PLAN.
