Pittsboro, NC: Dental Day will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 10:00am to noon. This will be a special day in the park for the infants, toddlers and preschoolers of Chatham County. As you know, it is very vital for young children to learn about dental care and oral hygiene. Child care providers from family child care homes and small child care centers are encouraged to bring their children to this important event. Parents are also welcomed..

Children will have the opportunity to participate in story time, singing, games and other fun activities that will promote good oral hygiene. The Colgate Dental Van will join the festivities with a dentist on board to provide an oral screening of children in the dentist chair. Each child will receive a child size string backpack and a dental tooth kit which includes tooth saver (to keep safe for the Tooth Fairy), tooth brush, brushing timer, tooth paste and educational materials to take home and continue their good brushing techniques.  We will have a dental hygienist on hand to teach everyone how to properly brush teeth. Oral screening and referrals will occur for all children with a signed parental permission slip.

The event will be held at Town Lake Park, 529 N Carolina 902, Pittsboro.

The first 10 child care providers that call and register will receive a Kaplan(tm) Soft Dentist Kit and special books about dental care for their child care library.

Bring children’s lunch and make it a morning picnic before naptime. There will be water available to drink.
